Elouise M. Shannon Beaver Dams: Elouise M. Shannon, age 91, of Beaver Dams, NY passed away on Thursday December 11, 2014. Honoring her wishes there are no prior calling hours. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family on a date to be announced in the spring at Hillside Cemetery, Route 14A, Dundee, NY. Elouise was born April 21, 1923 in Corning, NY, the daughter of the late Harry J. and Eva Mae Barnes Smith. On October 24, 1943 in Rev. Lynn Crawford's home in Bradford, NY she married the late George W. Shannon Sr., who passed away on December 2, 1989. A life long area resident, Mrs. Shannon attended North Baptist Church in Corning in her younger years. She was a true animal lover, enjoyed her many cats, loved gardening, and was a wonderful country cook. She is loved and will be missed by 2 sons George W. (Darleen) Shannon, Jr. of Beaver Dams, Kevin R. (Angela) Shannon of Martinsville, VA; 3 daughters Kathleen L. (Earl) Frost of Elkland, PA, Anne S. Brungard of Rushford, NY, Erin O. (Carl) Doyle of Horseheads, 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her twin brother Eldred Smith on the day after their birth; and a sister Fannie Eldred in 1990. Arrangements are entrusted to the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee.
