Eleanor Dorothy Sloan Dundee, NY/Daytona Beach, FL: Eleanor Dorothy Sloan, "Dot" age 84, of Dundee, NY originally of Daytona Beach, FL, passed away on Christmas Day, Saturday December 25, 2021 at the Ontario Center For Rehabilitation & Nursing, in Canandaigua, NY. Honoring her wishes there are no calling hours or services in New York. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday Jan. 15, 2022 in Daytona Beach Memorial Park, 1425 Bellevue Ave., Daytona Beach, FL. Dot was born Dec. 12, 1937 in Daytona Beach, FL, the daughter of the late Arthur Edward and Eleanor Gertrude (Carberry) Darby. She graduated from Mainland High School in 1955. She continued her education at Orlando Memorial School of Nursing receiving her Nursing Degree in 1958. On February 15, 1958, she married Charles William Sloan. She was employed by Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach, FL, as a Registered Nurse Manager until 1978. She was also a State Registered Nurse in Great Britain, Scotland and Wales. When Dot retired, she moved to Dundee, she had a gift shop, Dorothy & Co, at the Windmill Farm and Craft Market for 20 years. She is survived by her husband Charles William Sloan Sr. of Jacksonville, FL; 2 daughters Viktoria L. Sloan of Harpers Ferry, W.V., Margaret S. (Kurtis) Loftus of Jacksonville, FL; 5 grandchildren Gwynne (Ross) Frankel of Sheffield, Mass., Brenna (Joseph) Baldwin of Harpers Ferry, W.V., Kirsten (David) DeSanto, and Katherine (Alex) Zimmer all of Jacksonville, and Emily Sloan of Orlando, FL; her sister Margaret Davis of Vero Beach, FL; 2 nieces Donna (Steven) Hughes of Vero Beach, FL, Dorothy (Ronald) Kacsmaryk of Fort Worth, TX and 6 great grandchildren.
