Donald G. Yereance

Poughkeepsie: Donald G. Yereance, age 71, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away, in the comfort of his home on Saturday September 21, 2019 after a lengthy battle with health issues.

The family will receive friends and celebrate his life together from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon Saturday Sept. 28 at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Vassar Brothers Hospital Foundation c/o Respiratory Care Unit, 45 Reade Place, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.

Donald was born August 26, 1948 in Newburgh, NY, the first son of Kenneth G. and Shirley O. {Knapp} Yereance. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1966. On December 8, 1973 in Poughkeepsie, he married the former Arlene C. Mardenfield. He worked for the former Howell Brothers Burial Vault Company; before becoming a security guard, having worked in various locations, retiring from security at St. Francis Hospital in 2013. In his spare time, he loved to hunt and fish with his brothers and friends.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 46 years Arlene; 2 sons Kevin (Daina), and Cory; 2 grandchildren Aidan, and Gianna, all of Poughkeepsie; his mother Shirley of Pleasant Valley; 3 brothers Gary K. (Kirsten) of Hyde Park, Jay D. of Vero Beach, FL, Keith M. (Patricia) of Wappingers Falls; 2 sisters, Cheryl M. (Gary) Ogan of San Jose, CA, Darla J. Yereance of Pleasant Valley; sister in law Ann (Adi) Amrami of Tel Aviv Israel; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father Kenneth Yereance in 2002.
