Donald L. Day Dundee: Donald "Donnie" L. Day, age 72, of Dundee, NY, died December 3rd, 2016 peacefully at his home. At his request, there are no prior calling hours or funeral service to be held, however his family would like to honor Donnie in a celebration of his life on Friday, December 9th, 2016 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the VFW in Dundee, NY. A private memorial service will be held at a later date for his family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Donald's name to the Wayne American Legion Mead-Price American Legion Post 1208, P.O. Donnie was born October 26th, 1944 in Bath, NY, one of five children to Lloyd and Georgana Day. Donnie attended Bradford Central School and Williamsport Technical Institute. He was retired from Suit Kote, Inc. Donnie was very mechanical and loved fixing, building and upgrading. He could teach you the hard way, the easy way or his way; usually it was his way. He would help anyone in an instant, whether asked or not and he loved his children and grandchildren with all of his heart. Donnie is survived by and was extremely loving and proud of his son, Jamie Day (Nichole) of Tyrone NY and his daughter, Alison Miller (Denver) of Dundee, NY, along with his grandchildren Corey Day (Kyli), Kali Day, Carson Miller and Emma Miller. Donnie is also survived by his sister Gloria White of Virginia Beach, Virginia, his brothers James Day (Barbara) of Victor, NY and Edwin Day (Toni) of Wayne, NY, sister-in-law Ruth Metz (Robert) as well as many loving nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Lloyd and Georgana Day of Wayne, NY and his brother, Robert Metz of Bath, NY. He was an active member of the Wayne American Legion, Dundee VFW and Montour Moose Lodge. Arrangements were entrusted to the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee.
