Donald R. Applebee Weston/Dundee: Donald Robert Applebee, age 78, of Weston, NY died Friday December 30, 2022 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility, in Montour Falls, NY. There are no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday Jan. 14, 2023 beginning with a Fireman's Service at the Bradford Baptist Church, 2788 Yawger Hill Rd., Bradford, NY. Inurnment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Hammondsport, NY at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Assoc. Finger Lakes Chapter, 2113 Chili Ave., Rochester, NY 14624. Donald was born March 13, 1944 in Canandaigua, NY, the son of the late Carlton B. and Marie Agnes (Neuman) Applebee. He worked at the Cohocton Creamery before he married the former Christine A. Andrews in Wayland, NY on May 14, 1966. Moving to Hammondsport, he was employed as a fork truck operator by Mercury Aircraft, for 39 years, retiring in 2007; after which, he worked part time at Dundee Shur-Fine. Mr. Applebee was a former member of the Tyrone Fire Dept.; and had attended the Waneta Lake Baptist Chapel, and the Barrington Community Church. In his spare-time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, loved camping; but time spent with his grandchildren was priceless and treasured. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Christine A. Applebee at home; 3 daughters Tammie S. Andrews of Dundee, NY, Donna M. (Steve) Luppino of Penn Yan, NY, Holly L. (Steve) Adair of Sevierville, TN; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; 5 sisters; 4 brothers; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a grandson James Michael Mack in 2012, and a son in law Randy L. Andrews in 2021. Arrangements by the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee.
