Friends are invited to calling hours from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Thursday (Feb. 2) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where a Catholic service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 7:00 pm. with Father Patrick Connor officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tyrone Volunteer Ambulance Corp., P.O. Box 69, Tyrone, NY 14887, or Schuyler County Volunteer Ambulance, P.O. Box 2, Watkins Glen, NY 14891. Diane was born Oct. 2, 1959 in Penn Yan, NY, the daughter of Franklin and Josephine A. Danilowicz Dibble. She graduated from Dundee Central School in 1978, and continued her education at Corning Community College majoring in Early Childhood Development, and also became a Dental Assistant. She began her dental career at Eaves Family Dental, before accepting a position with the late Dr. Michel in Watkins Glen. On February 13, 1988 in Bradford, NY she married Brian V. DeStephen. After starting their family Diane returned to work as a teller for Bath National Bank in Dundee, and Hammondsport; where her love of children, and her college major helped her become a teacher's aid for Hammondsport Central School. The last ten years, she has enjoyed being a homemaker. Mrs. DeStephen had been a Sunday School Teacher for St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, in Bradford. She enjoyed supporting all of her children's many endeavors; collecting all kinds of Snowmen, and cooking. But her favorite activity was caring for her animals, and spoiling her grandsons. She is loved and will be dearly missed by her husband of almost 29 years Brian V. DeStephen at home; a daughter Courtney R. (David) Howell of Dundee; a son Nathan A. DeStephen of Bradford; 2 grandsons Cyle and Brantley J. Howell; her parents Frank & Joan Dibble also of Bradford; a brother Greg F. Dibble of Dundee; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and her faithful furry babies Mollie & Millie. Online condolences can be sent by visiting www.bairdfuneralhomedundee.com.
