Dundee: Dawn E. Keefer, age 60, of Dundee, NY passed away on Sunday June 1, 2014 at The Homestead, in Penn Yan, N.Y..
Friends are invited to call from 5-8 pm Thursday (June 5) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday (June 6) with Rev. Lucinda O'Leary officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee.

Dawn was born July 25, 1953 in Bath, NY, the daughter of the late Henry Ward and Helen B. Vine Keefer. She graduated from Bradford Central School in 1971, and then from Alfred University in 1975 with a BS Degree in Math Education. She immediately began teaching at Gowanda Central School from 1975-1977. She continued her education at the University of Buffalo before transferring to Elmira College to graduate with a Masters Degree in Math Education in 1979. A life long area resident, having lived in Hamburg, NY for two years in the beginning of her career, she has resided in Dundee with her "Partner in Life" John C. Wiedemer since 1978. Dawn was employed as a Math and Business Education Teacher by Dundee Central School, from 1977 - 2002 when her health forced her to retire.
When she was able Ms. Keefer attended the Dundee Presbyterian Church, and was a past secretary for the church; she was also a former member of the Dundee Fire Company Ladies Aux.; and a former Trustee of the Village of Dundee 1995-2008. And was a lover of animals especially cats.
She is loved and will be dearly missed by her Life Partner John C. Wiedemer of Dundee, 2 brothers Donald C. (Vicki) Keefer of Anchorage, AK, Henry W. (Susan) Keefer Jr. of Savona; 3 sisters Barbara J. (Hank) Scudder of Bath, Michele N. (Karl) Mehlenbacher of Bradford, Annette L. (Gordon) Wilusz of Rush , NY; 2 nieces; 7 nephews; countless friends including Harley and Hanna.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother Hubert P. Keefer in 2007.
