David Joseph Welch 1/5/1958 – 11/24/2023 Dundee/Elmira: David Joseph Welch, age 65, of Dundee, formerly of Elmira, NY; unexpectedly went to be with our Lord on Friday November 24, 2023. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Friday Dec. 1, at the Fresh Start United Methodist Church, 1238 Pennsylvania Ave., Pine City, NY 14871; where a memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Avoca United Methodist Church-Ramp Guys Ministry 8593 Jacob Ladder Avoca, NY 14809; Closer Walk, or a charity of the donor's choice.. Born January 5, 1958 in Elmira, NY; and was a graduate of Edison High School and Elmira Business Institute. Dave retired from the New York State Department of Corrections in January 2020 where he had served for 32 years. He was active in the Walk to Emmaus/Closer Walk Community. After retirement Dave stayed busy volunteering with The Ramp Guys of Steuben County and NOMADS Mission trip to Jacksonville FL 2022. After moving to Dundee, he volunteered for the Dundee Fresh Produce Project. A Poet extraordinaire; and resident grandpa to any child that was around; he enjoyed football, World Wrestling and watching movies. He leaves behind his wife of 38 years Beverly Personius Welch; his sons Adam (Monique) Welch, Cory (Tonie Marie Liquori) Welch and David Odell (Jacksonville Florida). His beloved granddaughters, Ally and Cadi Welch; his Fur friends Cocoa and Starla; brother Ronald (Lisa) Trumbull; mother-in-law Ella Personius; sisters in law Kathleen Cunningham, Marlene Twiss and Janet Delahunty; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and community friends. He was predeceased by his mother Wilhelmina Welch –Trumbull; brother's George R.
