David G. Parkhurst Dundee: David G. Parkhurst, age 74, of Dundee, NY passed away on Thursday January 14, 2016 in the comfort of his home with his family at his side. Friends are invited to calling hours from 2:00 – 4:00 pm on Friday (Jan. 22) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where a memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837; or to Ontario-Yates County Hospice Assoc., 756 Pre-Emption Rd., Geneva, NY 14456. David was born February 26, 1941 in Rochester, NY, the son of the late George and Lucille Osborne Parkhurst. He graduated from Penn Yan Academy. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1963. A life-long area resident, he worked as a welder and pipefitter in the salt industry for 42 years. On April 14, 1990 in his home on Hollister St. he married the former Deborah L. Perry. Retiring from Akzo Nobel Salt of Watkins Glen in 2006; Mr. Parkhurst was a member of the Himrod Conservation Club, a former member of the Seneca Lakes Duck Hunters, and the Watkins Glen VFW. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and NASCAR cheering for #24 Jeff Gordon. He is loved and will be missed by his wife of 26 years Debbie L. Parkhurst at home; a daughter Elaine M. (Mark) Andrews of Penn Yan; 6 sons Jeff S. (Shelley Cunningham) Parkhurst of Himrod, David G. (Tonya) Parkhurst Jr. of Lincolnton, NC, Bryan D. (Toni) Parkhurst of Bellona, Edward A. (Elizabeth) Parkhurst of Waterloo, Michael C. (Lynn Cook) Nolan of Big Flats, Brian J. (Melissa) Nolan of Rock Stream; a daughter in law Norene M. Parkhurst of Penn Yan; 20 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a brother Walter Parkhurst; a sister Ellen Hayes; a very dear sister in law Sheryl Parkhurst; and several nieces and nephews.
