Cora Jane Miller 1934 ~ 2023 Dundee: Cora Jane Miller, age 88, of Dundee, NY passed away quietly in her home on Tuesday, June 20th, 2023. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Monday June 26, at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where a funeral service for her along with memorial service for her beloved husband Roger F. Miller, will begin at 1:00 pm with a Fireman's Service followed by Lay Pastor Whendy Wolverton officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee. The family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to the Dundee Fire Company, 12 Union Street, Dundee NY 14837. Cora Jane was born September 22, 1934 one of ten children to the late Albert E. and Anna (Lajza) Hess Sr. of Dundee. She graduated Dundee Central School in 1952. She married Roger Frank Miller on December 13, 1952; enjoying 69 years of marriage before he passed away on Nov. 7, 2022. When she was young she worked for Roger's mother at Miller's Restaurant on Main Street in downtown Dundee. After marrying, Cora Jane was a homemaker for many years; after raising her family to middle school age, she accepting a position helping Ida Mae Ovenshire clean and sit with the women in her assisted living home. She was constantly working alongside her husband, owning and operating Miller's Catering for decades and managed the site of dozens of weddings through the years. They took their catering skills on the road and had booths at The Windmill Farm & Craft Market in Penn Yan, Hanna Junction in Canandaigua and The Carousel Market in Elmira. Cora Jane was a member of the Dundee Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for many decades. She is survived by her 5 children Trudy (George) Farrell of Dundee, Tami Miller of Penn Yan, Ted (Kate) Miller, Roger C. Miller both of Dundee, and Glen (Cathy) Miller of Bath; 9 grandchildren Zach (Jamie) Farrell of Geneva, Casie (Thomas Crowley) Farrell of Schenectady, Jason (Jill) Plumlee of Penn Yan, Crystal (John) Bentley of Dundee, Sarah (JD) Rogers of Franklin, Tennessee, Chad Miller of Penn Yan, Michael J. Miller of Key West Florida, Eric (Kristine) Miller of Weston, and Karen (Brandon) Hughes of Chesapeake, VA.; 15 great grandchildren Grace, Zoey, and Stella Farrell, Abigail & Emilia Plumlee, Lee Miller, Cassie Morrissette, Trey & Hailey Bentley, Cole & Ava Rogers, Delaney & Easton Hughes, and Alexa & Zoey Miller; sisters Rose Marie Smith and Mildred Bates, and brother-in-laws Joe Stahl and Raymond (Jane) Miller Jr. Along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her grandson Joshua D. Plumlee, sister Virginia Stahl, sister & brother-in-laws Barbara (Roland) Smith, Shirley (AC) Dobson, Mary Ruth (Jerry) Whipple, Gloria (Jack) Grenham, Leona (Bob) Smith, Brother and Sister-in-law Albert (Vivian) Hess Jr., and brother-in-laws Kenneth Smith and Harold Bates; niece Kathy Areford, nephews Randy, Leonard, & Ross Smith.
