Colleen L. Howell Bradford: Colleen L. Howell, age 90, of Bradford, NY died Monday June 13, 2016 at Schuyler Hospital, in Montour Falls, N.Y. Friends are invited to calling hours from 1:00 -2:00 p.m. Thursday (June 16) at the Tyrone United Methodist Church, Church St. Tyrone NY; where her funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm with Pastor Beth Kottemann officiating. Burial will follow in Tyrone Union Cemetery, Tyrone, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to Tyrone United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1, Tyrone, NY 14887 or the Tyrone Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box 69, Tyrone, NY 14887. Colleen was born October 31, 1925 in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Hattie Scott Moore. She graduated from Dundee Central School in 1943. On June 16, 1945 she married the late Van Liew Howell, who passed away on Nov. 11, 1981. Mrs. Howell was a bookkeeper for 30 years at the former Dundee State Bank, in Dundee; retiring in 1987. She was a dedicated 66 year member and former treasurer of the Tyrone Methodist Church. She is loved and will be missed by her daughter Connie C. (Marty) West of Bradford; 2 granddaughters Debra L. (Stephe) Bedient of Watkins Glen, and Tammy L. (Jay) Little of Corning, NY; 4 great grandchildren Matt and Jared Bedient, Kyle and Amber Little; 2 nephews Larry (Joan) Howell and Bob (Dorothy) Howell both of Florida; and 2 nieces Elsie Emerson of Massachusetts, and Janet Bower also of Florida. Special thanks, to Dr. Blanche Borzell who was her very caring doctor for many years; and also to the staff at Schuyler Hospital, for their very compassionate ways.
