Clifton C. ''Chuck'' Hathaway

Dundee/Tyrone: Clifton C. ''Chuck'' Hathaway, age 75, of Dundee, NY passed away peacefully on Monday October 26, 2026 in the comfort of his home, with family by his side.

Calling hours will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Wednesday Nov. 4, with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday Nov. 5, with Pastor Carleen Frost officiating. Burial with Military honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee.

‘Chuck’ was born April 19, 1951 in Dundee, NY, the son of the late Clifton J. and Betty J. (Coulter) Hathaway. He graduated from Dundee Central School in 1970. On Sept. 19, 1970 in Altay, NY he married the former Carolyn J. Southard. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Army for just over a year before Agent Orange landed him in Walter Reed Army Medical Center for 13 months; retiring him with an Honorable Discharge. He continued to serve in the Army Reserves until 1977. Chuck was an over the road truck driver employed by Herr's Motor Express, of Wilkes-Barre, PA.; retiring in 1994.

Mr. Hathaway was a devoted member of the Rock Stream Presbyterian Church, and was instrumental in developing the current music system for the church. He was also an active member of the Lamoka Masonic Lodge 463 F&AM. In his spare time he loved to go fishing with his grandsons. He also enjoyed hunting and camping with his family.

He is loved and will be dearly missed by his daughter Heidi M. (Leann) Hathaway with whom he shared his home; grandsons Alex B. (Jessica) Hathaway of Penn Yan, NY, Ryan A. (Christa Muller) Hathaway of Rock Stream, NY, Zach Deats of Mansfield, PA, and Josh Weed of Elmira; great grandsons Jordan and Shawn Hathaway; sister Grace Williams of Rock Stream, NY; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Carol on March 12, 2009, and a daughter Jessica Hathaway on May 14, 2026.
