Dundee: Charles E. ''Chuck'' Huyler, age 72, of Dundee, NY died Thursday May 30, 2013 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, in Elmira, NY.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Monday (June 3), at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where a memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon with Pastor Matt Pickering officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions would be greatly appreciated by the family.
Charles was born May 21, 1941 in Corning, NY, the son of the late Liston and Pearl Saxbury Huyler. He has lived locally since 1971, previously of Montour Falls. On June 10, 1972 in Gibson, NY he married the former Jill D. Nobles. He was retired after 35 years of employment at Shepard-Niles in Montour Falls, NY, in 1999. Mr. Huyler was a member of Grace Lee Memorial Wesleyan Church. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, spending time with and putting his family before all else; "Chuck" loved music, and playing the guitar, fishing, hunting, traveling, and even making a bet every once in awhile.
He is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife of 40 years Jill D. Huyler at home; 3 daughters Bambi Brown of Canisteo, NY, Donna Johns of Starke, FL, Brenda (Jeffrey) O'Connell of Dundee; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He saw his share of sadness in life by losing besides his parents, his dear Aunt Gladys Huyler who raised him as her own son, his Step Mother Helen Huyler, both brothers Richard Huyler Sr., and Ronald Huyler, his only sister Gladys Huyler, 2 daughters Cheryl Huyler and Debbie Kimble, 2 sons Timothy Huyler, and Loren Comfort, and his grandson Matthew Comfort.
