Dundee: Calvin E. LaDuew, 73 of, Dundee, N.Y., passed away Thursday (November 14, 2013), in Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Penn Yan, NY.
Calvin was born January 1, 1940 in Elmira, he was the son of the late Floyd J. and Vivian B. (Depew) LaDuew. He graduated from American Detective School in NYC and also a graduate of Auctioneer School in Nashville TN. Served in the Army (1958-1961), he was self employed as an auctioneer, owned a furniture and general merchandise store in Seneca Falls, and as N.Y.S. Auxiliary Police officer and other various duties.
Mr. LaDuew was a member of the Presbyterian Church and former custodian. He was a former Boy Scout Master of Hadley-Lazerne Troop, a past Commander of the Sea Explorers in Auburn, NY. He loved fishing and enjoyed working and helping people anyway he could.
He is loved and will be missed by his daughter: Sabrina J. Falone of Auburn, NY and three sons: Calvin Robert Duffy of NJ, Calvin Edward LaDuew II of Waterloo, NY, Floyd Jamie K. LaDuew of Anchorage, AK; one brother: James Lee (Jeanette) LaDuew of Ozark, AL; two sisters: Elizabeth Dawn LaDuew, of Ohio and Vivian LaDuew ; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, several niece and nephews and 4 foster children in the Philippines.
Friends are invited to call from 4-6 pm Friday (Nov. 22) at Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday (Nov. 23) at Dundee Presbyterian Church, 31 Main Street, Dundee with Rev. Ellen Donnan officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Hillside Cemetery.
