Barry J. Rickerson Dundee: Barry J. Rickerson, age 54, of Dundee, NY died Sunday October 26, 2014 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, N.Y. Honoring his wishes calling hours will be from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Thursday (Oct. 30) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee, NY. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. The family respectfully requests no flowers, and graciously asks that those wishing to donate in Barry's memory to help with his expenses send contributions to his mother Janet Rickerson, 72 Water St. Dundee, NY 14837. Barry was born July 30, 1960 in Penn Yan, NY, the son of Earl D. and Janet M. Allen Rickerson. He graduated from Dundee Central School in 1978, having lettered in Football, Wrestling, and Track. He moved to Florida, raised his family, relocated to Tennessee where he was employed in maintenance by Sleep Inn, of Knoxville, TN. While living in Tennessee he developed a brain disorder and could no longer work. His brother Brian and his family watched over him and his needs until he decided to return to NY. He moved in with his "dear" Aunt Pat and Uncle Lanny Gilbert. He helped Pat who was recovering from knee surgery, with housework, and yard work. They treated him with much kindness and made sure he took his meds and made it to Doctors appointments. They loved him like a son, and his family is forever grateful for their help. He is survived by his son Jason Rickerson of Jacksonville, FL; daughter Nichelle "Nicki" M. Rickerson and step daughter Lisa Rickerson both of Lakeland, FL; his mother Janet M. Rickerson and brother Ray Rickerson both of Dundee; brother Brian (Kim) Rickerson of Knoxville, TN; sister Amy Rickerson also of Lakeland, FL; maternal grandmother Bea Allen of Dundee, 5 grandchildren Kayleigh Paxton, Haylie Carver, Kayson Rickerson, Aydin Hall, and Shilous Hall all of Florida; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
