Barbara J. Perry

Dundee: Barbara J. Perry, age 74, of Dundee, NY passed away with her family around her on Friday May 15, 2026 at the Keuka Comfort Care Home, in Penn Yan, NY.

Honoring her wishes there will be no prior calling hours or public service. Inurnment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee, New York.

Barbara was born March 30, 1952 in Corning, NY, the daughter of the late Harry Eugene and Betty J. (Paddock) Ayers Sr.; and was raised by William & Grace Klock along with her brother Harry.

Barbara graduated high school and later in life she went on to graduate from Continental Beauty School in Rochester. Over the years she worked at a sauerkraut factory, Labelon, various salons, and was self-employed as a hairdresser for several years. Her last employment was as a bus driver for the Penn Yan school district.

Barbara enjoyed going to the state fair, camping, horseback riding, bingo and cards with her family and friends. She very much enjoyed spending time with family.  Her most favorite thing to do in her later years was listen to Roy Litteer play his fiddle with his band at various locations in the area.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Grace M. Bayer of Rushville, Abby L. Hand of Montour Falls, and Carla M. VandeWater of Penn Yan; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a brother Harry E. Ayers Jr. (Rhonda) of Lakemont; a sister Nancy (Robert) McCaslin of Bath; and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life announced at a later date.
