Alan James Dunmore Dundee: Alan James Dunmore, age 84, of Dundee, NY passed away on Sunday October 15, 2023 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, in Penn Yan, NY. Alan was born June 29, 1939 in Fulham, England; son of the late Henry Albert and Agnes (Tigwell) Dunmore. On Mar. 28, 1964 in Wales he married the former Ann Blanchard, who preceded him in death on March 31, 2023. They brought their family to Albany, NY in 1979 to ensure their children had the greatest opportunity to thrive, and they enjoyed 17 years on Seneca Lake after retiring from West Bloomfield, Michigan. Alan was a Chemical Engineer by profession, receiving his degree in the UK and acceptance into the Royal Society of Chemistry. He retired in 2006 from a career that moved from the shoe industry, to running his own business, to automotive engineering. He is loved and will be dearly missed by his four children, Mathew A. (Heather) Dunmore of Commerce, MI, Simon 'Toby' (Michelle) Dunmore of West Bloomfield, MI; Lucy A. (Greg) Gould of Delmar, NY, Sara L. (Rand) Huther of Climax, NY; 9 grandchildren Craig (Kirsten), Ryan (Gina), Olivia, Gregory, Carys, Lucas, Simon, Collyn, and Hannah; a great granddaughter Isabella; along with his sister Margaret White of London, England; and her two daughters, nieces Nichola and Jacqueline White, good friend Bradley Gillett and son Eden. Honoring his wishes, there will be no calling hours or public service.
